Dave grew up near Peace River, Alberta. He received an Honours BSc in Chemistry, from the University of Alberta in 1972. He worked as Chief Organic Chemist with the Customs Laboratories in Revenue Canada until 1979.
From 1979 to 1994, Mr. Podruzny worked with the federal industry department, participating in the Canada-U.S. Free Trade negotiations, in the GATT Uruguay Round negotiations, and as a member of Canada’s Energy and Petrochemical negotiating team during the North America Free Trade Negotiations. He served as Director in the Chemicals Branch at Industry Canada from 1990-1994 before joining the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC).
Dave is Vice-President, Business and Economics and is Secretary to the Board of Directors for CIAC.
Mr. Podruzny is an avid jogger and downhill skier and enjoys building rock gardens. He and his wife, Faye, have two children and live near Ottawa, Canada.
